Technologies that were different up to now are getting closer and closer. In the course of the past 10 years, information technology (IT) emerged from the connection of data processing and internet. At the moment, IT is amalgamating with telephony to form the new field of ICT – information and communication technology. Integration of automation technology into ICT will take place over the next years. In fact, this development results in the connection of ICT to the real world.
