The tester OPC server for VIScontrol performs two tasks:

VIScontrol as OPC server
VIScontrol version 6 can be operated as OPC server! Using the tester OPC server, VIScontrol is able to provide its data points to other applications as far as these applications include an OPC client.

Control system tests without control hardware
The tester OPC server – as temporary replacement for any other OPC server – can also be used for testing of the control system without corresponding control hardware.
